Create and share a post on Waggle, which is like GoFundMe but for pets.

Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) – offers a wide-range of assistance programs  aimed at helping veterans of every generation.  Website has a Find a Post link to search for a VFW near you.

Veterinary Resources

FACE Foundation: Financial assistance for local pet owners who can’t afford emergency veterinary care (858) 450-3223.

Dogs on Deployment: Provides vital assistance and foster homes during deployments to military pet owners. They also offer a free Spay/Neuter program for military pets 619.800.3631

Foundation for the Care of Indigent Animals – volunteer led non-profit in Spring Valley that takes in small adoptable dogs in need of care.

Frosted Faces Foundation – organization that provides veterinary care and services to enhance the quality of life for senior animals.

Bow Wow Buddies – helps sick and injured dogs in need by providing medical care funds to dogs who may be homeless or whose parents cannot afford to pay their veterinary bills.

Service Dog Help and Information: The Assistance Dog Special Allowance (ADSA) program provides a monthly payment of $50 to eligible persons who use a guide, signal, or service dog to help them with their disability-related needs. The allowance is to help pay the costs of food, grooming, and health care for the dog.

Veterans Canine Intelligence Academy – organization who assists veterans and first responders with disabilities with location of a service dog, training, free household pet items and help with tenant/employment issues associated with a service dog.

San Diego Humane Society – has multiple services and programs, such as pet pantries, rehoming your pet, and low-cost veterinary services.

Rancho Coastal Humane Society – has a pet food bank, bereavement and senior services.

Military Resources

Each service has a private, nonprofit organization that assists families in times of need. Assistance may include emergency transportation; help with medical bills, child care expenses, food, rent, utilities, and other household bills; vehicle repair; and family emergency assistance.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) helps veterans and their families in a number of ways 

Interfaith Community Services provides the tools and resources people in crisis need to stabilize and rebuild their lives with basic needs, employment, housing and other services

Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) serves America’s veterans in overcoming homelessness and related challenges (619) 393-2000

ASYMCA – provides access to food security, childcare and other community resources.

Warrior Foundation / Freedom Station – primarily assists military with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), those undergoing physical and occupational therapy, the seriously ill, and the soon to be medically retired.
